OFFICIAL VISIT TO TAUHERENIKAU CAMP.

Wellington, March 12. An official visit was paid to the Tauhcrenikau camp yesterday by His Excellency the Governor, the ActingPrime Minister (Hon. J. Carroll), Acting Minister of Defence (Hon. G Fowkk), Colonel Robin, and Colonel Collins. They witnessed a series of operations to illustrate the scheme of instruction. General Godley. the commandant, addressed the men'incisively summing up their operations. A short ■speech was given by Lord Islington, congratulating tho men on the manner in which they had carried out the work of the camp during the past two months. He felt that the energy and industry they had shown was an assurance that the forces under the new defence scheme would prove a credit to New Zealand and an incalculable military aid to the Empire.
