THE ADELAIDE MATCH.

Owing to the late arrival of the South Africans tho start of thei match was delayed till two o'clock. Th? weather nnd the wicket were perfect, and tho attendance was 1500. Hil' won tho toss and Mayne and Dolling opennd to Llewellyn and Sinclair, and runs came steadily. Schwarz was substituted for Llewellyn at 25, and >n his second over he got Mayne;—l.for 42. Hill went on and the partnership put on 50 in 45 minutes. Llewellyn then relieved Sinclair. Dolling was easily stumped at 70 after a good innings. Gehrs played on at 73. Hill was vigorous, compiling 50 in 64 minutes. Crawford played steadily. Just before tea Hill was c'.ean bowled. Ho batted for 71 minutes and hit 1 fourer —4 for 145.

After tea Roy Hill was bowled. At 157 Crawford was caught at slip. He bated for 72 minutes and hit 9 fours. Rws and Webster hit well but the others gave no trouble.
