A meeting of Welsh members of Parliament resolved that; the passing of the Welsh Disestablishment and Disendowmcnt Bill in 1912 was an essential condition to the Welsh continuing to support the Government. Mr Asquith afterwards promised a deputation that if the Parliament Bill was carried the Government would give Welsh disestablishment such a position in 1912 as would enable it to override the Lords' veto in tho present Parliament.
