MOTUEKA HARBOUR BOARD.

'Wm-iisiiui monthly meeting of the Mbkicka Harbour Board was held on Wednesday, therft being present Messrs Thos. Pattie (chairman); H. Everett, J. A. Guy, P. G. Moffatt, C. Fry, and T. G. Brougham. Mr Thos. Hewetson sent an apology for his absence.

Accounts amounting to £96 3s 9d were passed for payment.

The balance to current account in the bank was £376, and on fixed deposit £3076, subject to tho day's payments.

A letter was received from the St. Thomas' Church authorities, inviting the Board to bo present at the opening of the new church.—The invitation was accepted with hanks. A claim for £4 8s 9d was received from the Mbtiieka Farmers' Co-opera-tive Society; for. goods alleged to be short delivered. It was resolved that the claim bo not entertained.

The Chief Surveyor, Nelson, notified the Board that part section 144 is native reserve, and that the Board will have to arrange with the Public Trustee for a lease-.

The Board's engineer wrote, regretting his inability to be present at the meeting: The wharfinger reported that the month's revenue was £98 9s 3d, as against £93 12s 8d for a similar period last year. The tides had been exceptionally low and the Manaroa had been detained for 24 hours, the tide gauge showing only 6ft llin on Wednesday.

The outward shipments for the month totalled 1100 tons, and the traffic on the wharf had been somewhat congested.

A letter was received from the Superintendent State Guaranteed Advances Boardj stating that the application for £20,000 (portion of harbour loan) had been provisionally approved. It was resolved that tlio engineer be asked to prepare plans and estimates of a road from Rhodes' corner to the- new wharf site. This will include a bridge over Thorp's creek, and estimates will be given for both wood and concrete work.
