"The Times'" Toronto"correspondent reports that Mr Balfour's state"meiit ftiat Imperial wheat ivould be admitted free under tariff reform has revived interest in the policy of inte.-. Imperial preference, which lias been deadened by the slow progress of the mdve'ment in Britain. Mr F. Smith states that an overwhelming majority of tariff reformers agree with 'Mr Balfour's decision. PROTEST OF A LORD-IN-WAITING (Received April 18, 11.5 p.m.) London, April 18. Lord O'Hagen has resigned his office of Lord-in-Waiting, as a protest against Mr Asquith's dragigng the Crown into Parliamentary controversies.
