Writing to the Blackburn Reform Club Mr Winston Churchill says: "Our forces arc not as strong as we hoped, but we shall march squard.y forward and carry the Budget and the veto proposals un weakened and unmodified to the steps of the throne." Mr Keir Hardie, speaking at Blackburn, declared that if the movement against-the House of Lords meet obscurantist resistance from the Lords or the Throne, thp agitation will assume forms wherein the democracy will sweep aside all restraint and claim full enfranchisement at one fell-swoop.
