AMUSEMENTS.
ROYAL STANDARD PICTURES. Full houses greeted the new programme at the Druids' Hall at both afternoon and evening sessions on Saturday. The merit of the pictures is attested by their success with the public. The pictures were of a diversified character — some instructive, some dramatic, others comic, but all were interesting. "The Hostage," from Schiller, the story concerns the tyranny of Dipnys, the ruler of Syracuse ; "Virginius," from Sheridan Knowles 1 ; and "His Lost Lovej" an American stirring story of love and fickleness, are fine subjects. "Making; ' Charcoal" in the French forests and. "Bronco ! Breaking" amongst the vast mobs of wild horses in America are both novel and entertaining. "King Manuel in England" gives a number of scenes in Lisbon and London. ;'When the Stormy Winds do Blow,'" is a beautif vi seascape taken' at Biarraritz. The comics, "The First Floor Flat," "Mr Clark's Birthday," "The Wishbone," -and "Let us Hurry up" are very amusing. The' saane" - pro-^ gramme will be repeated to-nigbt and to-morrow.
