FOOTBALL.

The annual meeting of the Nelson Referees' Association was held on Friday night, Mr Oldershaw presiding. The election of. officers resulted as follows :— Mr Cooke, chairman ; Air, Canriington, vice-chairman; Mr G. Batchelor, secretary and treasurer; examination committee', Messrs Oldershaw, Cooke, and Logan; appointments committee, Messrs Oldershaw, Cooke, Cannington, Shrimpton, and! Logan. Classification committee, Messrs Oldershaw, Cooke, Logan, N alder, and Batohelor. The : following mew members were elected: — Messrs L. Esteourt, J. Henry, Hesseltine, G. Stapp, and R. Goodman. ' It was resolved to meet on Thursday evenings. It was resolved to send a letter thanking the' Wellington Association for the kindness displayed to the Nelson delegate. A presentation of a case of pipes was made to Mr Batchelor in recognition of his long and valuable services as secretary. The gift Twas suitably acknowledged.'
