NELSON JOCKEY CLUB.

ANNUAL RACE. MEETING. The annual race meeting of the Nelson Jockey Club will take place at Richmond Park on Wednesday and Thursday next. With the exception of the Nelson Cup Handicap, the acceptances are very satisfactory, especiallly in the trots, and there should besome interesting racing. The recent showery weather should have the ettect of putting the course in capitai order. Ten horses arrived by the Pateena from Wellington and Blenheim on Saturday, and a number of trotters came overland from Reefton in the evening. Several horses also arrived during the week. Some seven horses are at.present at, Greymouth, delayed by the westerly weather, and will not reach Nelson until to-morrow evening. Very little work has been done on the track, but this morning should see a large number out doing their final gallops. Given fine weather the, meeting promises to be most successful.
