NELSON RUGBY UNION.

A special, general meeting was- held at'Stallard's rooms last evening. Mr H. Saunders occupied the. chair,, and there were present 30 delegates. .The sub-committee appointed, in, connection with ths appointment of a secretary ;and treasurer; submitted their report. After some discussion it . wasy decided to ' appoint Mr W. Frank" as hon secretary,, with anj honararium of' £S : 8s~ Mr J. E. Mercer; was appointed hon treasurer. Mr F. P. Kitching was asked to accept the position of- assistant hon secretary; A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the retiring treasurer and secretary (Mr F. P. Kitching). Dr Andrew wrote submitting condi-' tions for the competitions, for the Andrew Shield for the approval of ; the' Union. Referred "to the Referees' Association for any suggestions. Subsequently a meeting of the management committee was held, Mr H. Saunders in the chair. It was resolved that the grounds at the Park be thrown open for the use of the clubs' on Saturday next. ,' : ; ' . The Murchison Club "wrote in' reference to. affiliation ;with..' the Nelson Union, and the secretary was instructed to reply to same. . All classification lists were held over till next meeting.
