DEATH OF SERGEANT MAGUIRE.

Sergeant Maguire, who was shot, allegedly by Powelka, in Hampton's garden on Sunday night, succumbed to his wound at 6 o'clock this^morning. , ■ • ■•-■ 11p.m. ; There is nothing-new in regard to Powelka. His last authentic appearance was that at Bunnythorpo invthe small hours of Wednesday morning, when a constable fired two shots after him. Later on the same day fie. -was supposed to Lave been seen still further north, near Makino. Since then absolutely nothing has been heard of him, though there have been the usual crop of reports of his alleged appearance. The police are watching all over the district. Sergeant Maguire was not in a fit condition for his depositions to be taken.
