CATHOLIC CAIINIVAL AND BAZAAR.

Last night there was a large attendance at the Theatre, which was a scene of brightness and jollity. The programme of dances and marches, combined with the excellent orchestral music, elicited much applause, and deserved praise was given Signor Borzoni and his willing band of performers. The little girls, who enter into their performances with great zest, appeared -to be special favourites, judging by the amount of applause accorded: them. The orchestral music gave much satisfaction, and was deservedly recognised by the audience/ The ladies presiding at tho stalls ap-. peared to be kept^busy. An announcement appears regarding the trains on Saturday night, by which it will.be seen that the country settlers will have an opportunity of soehig the programme of dances •in • its entirety.

Any change in the Constitution which would .impose a check by the second chamber on the Conservative paiiy when they are in power would be an advantage. — Lord Husrh Cecil.
