ROYAL STANDARD PICTURES.
WORLD'S PIANO RECORD. The new programme of pictures at the Druids' Hall was well patronised last night, when a number of fine subjects were screened. "i<'cols of Fate," a well enacted tragedy, and, a beautifully coloured subject entitled "The Scar," in which an abduction takes' place, the principal of the plot is' bitten on the hand by the heroine, and by the scar he is recognised while signing a marriage settlement, with the usual result, "retribution swoops down on the wrong-doer." • "The Strike- Leader" and "Saved .by a Burglar," are also up-to-date subjects that come in for a lot of praise. The comics are a most mirth provoking collection. Mr Edward Travis., commences under the supervision of a strong local committee, his long task of playing tho piano continuously for sixty-one hours and three-quarters, starting at 9 a.m. this morning. The hall will ba open at 8.30, and will continue open until the finish of the record. Mr Travis will play all classes of music, national, classical, operatic, and popular airs, and is also prepared to play any piece of music at sight placed before him by members of the audience.
