A BURGLAR SHOT.
(Received March 22, 0.30 a.m.) Port Darwin, March 21. A Chinese burglar entered the room of diver Hughes, at the Club Hotel. Hughes attempted to capture the intruder, who, using a knife, inflicted a slight wound upon him and escaped. A constable saw the man running and fired three shots at him. The dead body of the Chinaman was found at daylight in the bush, two shots having taken effect.
