NELSON JOCKEY CLUB.

A meeting of the committee of the Nelson Jockey Club was held at Mercer's rooms on Saturday night. Present: Messrs B. E. Trask (President), in the chair, W. Coleman J. Hagen, J. Wadsworth, R. Hunter, J. IS. Bartlett, G. Silcock. Two resignations were received, and two new members were elected. The correspondence received was of a routine character. The Garrison Band was the only band to tender for the supply of music on race days. After consideration it was resolved to make an offer to the band, the mattea* being left in the hands of the town members of the committee to arrange. - The offer of Mr F. N. Jones for the race card privileges was accepted. It was' resolved to invite tenders for luncheon and refreshment privileges, the town members of the committee to draw up conditions, etc. The secretary was instructed to interview the stationmaster-in-charge with regard to the railway time-table. Some small accounts were passed for payment.
