NELSON V. LOWER MOUTERE.

o A return match between the above clubs was played at the Park on Saturday. In the first game of the season 011 the Bay team's ground, Nelson went under badly, but tilings were somewhat reversed in the second game. Moutere batted first, aud G. Allcott and Starnes opened to Clark and Neale, but in three overs four wickets were down for one run, three having been down for 0. " Clark then had 3 for 0. The fifth wicket went at 5, and then 3 wickets fell in four balls, and 8 were down for 7. The total reached. 11, of which J. Holdaway got 5 and 3 were extras. Clark secured 5 for 3, anci xVealo 5 for 5. Nine batsmen were .bowled, and seven "ducks" were made. Nelson started badly, and; had two down for six, but several batsmen got on the job and 135 wab reached (Ncale 30, Cooke 28, Cunningham 24 not out, Stratton 19, Smyth 19, Drummond 9). The last wicket (Cunningham and Drummond) put on 32. G. Allcott 3, M. Allcott, C. Starnes 3, and Drummond secured the wickets. Moutere in the second innings reached 47. Hintz (5), Bird, Cook, Drummond, .and Stratton divided the wickets. Nelson won by an innings and 77 runs.

All Cup matches for next Saturday are postponed on account of the senior representative match at thePark and the review by Lord Kitchener at Wellington, where many of the players have to attend with the volunteers.
