Wanganul, Feb. 18. Joseph Davies and Martin Haines reappeared before the S.M. Court this morning in connection with the Rutland Hotel fire, alleged to have 'been caused by them. The prisoners were remanded, for eight days, bail being refused. The police stated that exhaustive inquiries will have to be made throughout the Dominion, and they did not know if they would be ready with their case even in eight days.
