SUBURBAN NORTH.

The usual monthly meeting of the Suburban North Road Board was held on Friday at the Hillside school. Members present were Messrs H. Wastney (acting chairman), W. H. Alborough, T. W. .Anderson, E. W. Frost, and A. Dodson. Accounts amounting to £14 4s 2d were passed for payment. The Overseer reported that he had inspected the ford on the road leading up to A. Gibb's, and he estimated that a stone rubble wall, lowering a bank, and filling in would cost about £15, as a concrete bridge and lowering banks and filling in, £22. He recommended tiiat about 15 chains of gravelling be done on the Lud road.

From Mr John Graham, M.P., ii answer to the clerk's letter ro grantj Wangamoa-Oneta road, stating tlia' £400 was put on tho estimates foi construction of road, and acquiring the land for same-. It was resolved that all the applications received for ranger be returned unopened, and fresh applications be called for a ranger to act conjointly for the Waimea County and the Suburban North Road Board at a salary of £8 per year, over all the road in the Wangamoa riding. — That tenders be invited by the next meeting of tho Board for gravelling on the Lud road. — That tho Overseer have th© ford on the road up to A. Gill's widened by filling in with large stones. — That the clerk apply to Messrs J. Morrison and E. W. Frost for a refund of amount paid for disinfecting their houses. — That tho clerk make out the balance sheet re small birds account as before.
