The lamb market is steady 1 with fair business doing, and a bettor ! demand for lamb for forward delivery. 1 The supply of this season's lamb falls ' short of the demand. The average i prico for Canterbury lamb is sd. Aus--1 tralian in large supply, 3|d. The beef ' market is quiet with no change in pnF ces. J The butter and cheeso per Turakina • and Opawa arrived in good condition. ' The average price of choicest New f Zealand butter is 1225 ; Australian L 120s ; Danish 1235 ; Siberia new sea--1 son's 118s; Argentine 120s. 1 The cheese market is firm, with a ' general active demand ; New Zealand finest white cheese averaging 595 ; coloured 58s. The hemp market is flat, with scarcely any demand at last quotations. , The output of Manila-for the week is 20,000 bales. Prices cabled on 29th January were:— Spot, New Zealand good fair, £27 10s; fair £26 10s ; Manila £26 10s; January-March shipment good fair, £27 ; fair £26, Manila £26.
