TAKAPUNA RACES.

Auckland, Feb. 5. There was perfect weather for the last day of the Takapuna races, and a large attendance of the public. The results were: — j Waimera Handicap Hurdles: Ar;magh 1, King 2, Leo 3. Also started Tui, Kakedau and Celtic. Won by three lengths. Borough Handicap : Hohungatihi 1, All's Well 2, Tarina 3. Also started, Turbine, Matsinga, Kikuai, Lady Frances, Rob the Ranter, Lady Betty, Pairawaatu, and Lady Dot. ; Won easily. After -the race the stewards held an inquiry into the running of Hohungatahi as compared with his effort on the opening day. The explanation given of it was accepted as satisfactory. . . Summer Handicap: Coromandel 1, : Miss Winnie 2, Elegance 3. Also ran Lochbuie, Rauparaha, Miss Advance and Aristocrat. Miss Winnie looked like winning, but Coromandel put in a great finish, and snatched victory : by a short head. Pony Handicap : Peggy Pryde 1, Miss Stella 2. Mistime 3. Also started Mighty Atom, Cryona, and Nora Soult. Won by a length and a half. Ponau Handicap: Castle BJaney, Whittaker 1, Parawai 2, Fuss 3. Also started, Madame Soult, Aristos, Pill, Spectre, Waitohi, Flat Fish, and Pairawaatu. Won by a head, Fuss a neck away third. Marine Handicap: Princess Soult 1, Double Bay 2, Minstrel 3. AJso ran, Hamadryad, Bonnie Fishwife, Master Jack, Muskerri, Havilah, Veitalia, and Lucella. Won by a length. Devonport Handicap : Hohungatahi 1, Devonport and Elegance (dead heat) 2. Won by a length and a half. Welter Handicap: Zinnia 1, Prince Leo 2, Azoff 3. Also started, Marcora, Rauparaha, Rimlockj- Miss Advance, Misstime, and Spectre. Won by a length and a half.
