THE FINEST WALK IN BRITAIN.

■ The finest walk in the ' British Isles is probably the walk from Beauly up Glen Affric, and down to Loch Duich oa the west coast, through the savage, pass of Glen Lichd. Impending over "Glen; Affric -on-the north are the giants'of 'middle Ross, the peaks- of Mam Soiif and Cam Eige dominating a long range of 3000 ft peaks. Northwards and southwards, and still more to the west, the 3000-footers throng. In the valleys almost the sole inhabitants are the red deor and 'the roe ; on the tops the eagle and the hillfox are : much oftener met with than hunian creatures.— Dr Ernest D. Baker, in the. "Scottish Review."
