BOWLING.

-PENNANT MATCH, The postponed pennant match was played on Saturday afternoon on the Maitai Green. After the previous night's rain the green was heavy, but played very well notwithstanding. The match resulted in a' win for the Nelson Club by 34 points in the aggregate. The winning club won on four rinks, tied on one, and lost <yi -one. and in the aggregate led from the stare. At the close of the play Dr. Wright, Vice-President, in the unavoidable abscence of the President (Mr E, Richi ards), handed the pennant to ■ Mr | Cresswell, President, of the Nelson C'iub, -and humourously remarked up--on the short stay it had made, with the Maitai . Club. Mr Cresswell remarked upon the interest attached to the competition, and the good that it did for the game, and said that he was sure that the majority of the NeL son Club, would be pleased to see the 'Maitai regain possession in the next contest.- Cheers wore then exchanged by the two clubs. Mesdames Calder and Frost dispensed the afternoontea on behalf of the Maitai Club.
