ROWING.
The sculling match between Fogwell and Welch to be rowed at Akaroa at Easter time is creating considerable interest in acquatic circles. Both oarsmen have been doing a lot of heavy work laely, and Fogwell expects to row at list 41b. Welch has been using his energies in cutting grass, seed, and is said to 1 be looking well. The Jatest advice from Richmond River, where Fred Ford and Geo. Day are training for their match for £100 " a side, to be rowed, on March 27th say thai both scullers are rowing as well as ever they did before, and are in the pink-of condition. George Day, who- went {.through his preliminary ■ 'work under Harry Pearce at Middle I Harbour, is doing splendid work, with ' Syd. Kemp as a partner. He is at present rowing in Larzen's boat, B which suits him.
