A FATHER AND* SON DROWNED. [Uhited Press Association.] Auckland, Feb. 26. Inspector Cullen has received the following telegram from the constable at Papakura :-— "A labourer named Alfred Francis and his son, three and a half years of age, were drowned near Weymouth yesterday while fishing. The son accidentally fell out of the boat, and the father jumped in to the rescue. Both were drowned before the eyes of Mrs Francis, who was also an occupant of thebo3,t. ; A large number of settlers are dragging for the bodies." .
