[United Fress Association.] - Auckland, Feb. 26. A deputation from the Auckland University. College Council waited upon the Minister for Mines (Hon. R. Mclterizie) this, afternoon in regard to the Auckland School of Mines. Sir. Maurice O'Rourke said the Auckland College had established a school of mines but they were not on, the same footing as the school of mines at Dunedin. ' For instance.- a young man at Waihi had won a scholarship but he was compelled to go to Dnnedin to enjoy its privileges.. The Mnister said personally he thought it was better to have one good school of mines than three or four inferior ones. He would look into the matter, howeVer. ■ . , « Tlie Hon Mr McKenzie left for Coromaridel to-night. : .
