NELSON EDUCATION BOARD.

(From a Correspondent.) Westport. Feb. 25. The following appointments were made yesterday by the Education Board : — Misses McKenzie, Cookj -and ' Hewlett were appointed teachers at the Nelson Town Schools. • ' .. Mr Austin Morrison was appointed temporarily in charge of the Baton School.' . ..- . Mr C. Risk was appointed to the Aniseed Valley School. : It was resolved to consult the Ri- [ waka School Committee on the "-pro- 1 . .posal to transfer Mr Forsyth from Appleby to the Brooklyn School. It was decided to advertise for teachers for the Puporiga and Uren- . whenua Schools. Miss Hunter was appointed as pupil ' teacher to the Lower Takaka School. After ' considerable discussion it was resolved that the Board, after a review of the position, regrets that it is unable to ' alter its former decision ; but if Mr ' Cowles is desirous of retiring, the ■ Board will' immediately recommend 1 the Minister of Education to allow ' t him to do so on superannuation on the expiry of the leave of absence granted. ,
