Messrs George Trapnell and Co., of the "Radium" Roller Mills, Brightwater, has received official notification tbat he has been awarded a gold medal for his exhibit of flour, wheatmeal, and semolina, at tbe Franco-British Exhibition, in London, recently closed. The exhibit was made in connection with the seotion for "Farinaceous Products and their Derivatives," and it 13 extremely gratifying to be able to record tbat Mr Trapnell bas been able to compete successfully with the largest manufacturers of the world. Mr Trapnell has secured awards at the New Zealand Exhibition and elsewhere for his products, but this is fche first occasion on which be bas ventured so far afield, and his success is all tbe more pleasing. Exhibition is published in a recent number of the "British Trade Review,-" and in glancing through we notice that Messrs Kirkpatrick and Uo., Limited, of Nelson, were successful in obtaining a gold medal in tne sections for " Preserved Meat. Fish, Vegetables, and Fruit" aDd "Sugar and Confectionery Condiments and Relishes, Chocolate. Nongat, Toffte, Tea, anfl Coffee." Tbo local firms are to be heartily congratulated upon their success.
