A SUCCESSFUL GAS COMPANY.

[United Peess Association.] '' Napier, Feb 8; The balance-sheet of the Napier Gas Campany, presented at the annual meeting to-day, showed a pro-, fit of £6708. An. interim dividend was paid on June 30, and the directors recommended a further dividend amounting to £3746; also £1200 to be credited to the meter fund ana £1760 carried forward. The Chairman's report stated that in order, to cope with the, increased -demand s S gasholder of 160.000 cubic -feet capacity was being erectedat^Hastngs and one of 115,000 at Port Auh, -riri The consumption of gas-show-ed 'an increase, of 13* per cent over 1907.- In order to provide funds tor improvement the Board was^ calling up part of the unpaid capital.
