At the Canada Club's dinner, replying on behalf of the Imperial Forces, Colonel Hoad, Commonwealth Commandant, alluded to the benefits of ths inauguration of the Imperial general staff. He emphasised that Australians' interest in military matters would be realised. If Australia had to he defended, it would be almost -entirely by hor citizen soldiers.
