Sydney, Feb. 3. • The State Treasurer, in a speech at Grafton, complained that New Zealand and ; otber States were exploiting tbe market by selling their stocks up to 4 per cent: The New South Wales Government had. not increased the rate of interest paid on stock issued by the Treasury, realising the vital importance to traders and others keeping tbe,interest low. lf the neighbouring Governments continued to exploit the market by outbidding in rates of interest the New South Wales' Government might, be forced in selfdefence to raise rates also.
