THE HUTT LOCAL OPTION INQUIRY.

[United Press Association.] Wellington, Feb. 2. • The Hutt No License League passed a resolution that the decision in the recent petition -was not consistent with previous decisions, especially in Newtown and-Masterton, and that there were not fair deductions from the evidence submitted. The resolution says that all witnesses who were summoned should ' have been called, in view of the closeness of the vote, and the fact that the Bench .held that some irregularities had been ' 'proved. It was affirmed that the decision that the full costs shonld be paid by the no license party was unjust, Licensed victuallers take strong exception to an attack made from the pulpit upon the Magistrates who heard the7case, and have, passed a resolution condemning it, and calling for some action to doal with the author, and prevent a further circulation of \ such slander.
