At :-the criminal sittings. to-day, Benjainin tiarker was found guilty of indecent asault on 1 girl nine year 3 of age, sentence being deferred. The case against Mary Cresswell, charged with performing an illegal operation, was not completed wben-the court rose.
G. E. Smith, for ill treating his sister-in-law was sentenced to four ypars! imprisonment, and Cfharlotte Elizabeth Smith nis wife, was sentenced to twelve months.
