At the Marlborough Boxing Association's tournament held at. Blenheim last week J. Hunter ,of Nelson won the light weight and welter competitions. In the light weight competition ho first met J. Pressing (formerly of Nelson), and defeated him easily on points. In the second contest against Weonan, of Wellington, ho had no difficulty in disposing of his opponent, and in the final he knocked Plum out in the third round. In the^ final for the welter Hunter easily defeated Plum on points On his performances Hunter should be awarded; the medal presorted to the most scientific boxer. Allan Thomp--Bod of Blenheim, who is well known in JNelson as an oarsman and footballer, won the middle and heavyweight competitions.
