In too House of Commons, Mr .isquith strongly defended the Licensing Bill, declaring that it repressed the good sense and considered judgment of the House. After a vigorous reply for the Opposition, the third reading was carried by 350 to 113. The measure wag sent to the House of Lords and formally read a first time. Toe Christmas recess of Parliament will be ocly ft s&ort one, owing to the desire of the Government to push on the Eduoation bill.
