ST. JOHN'S CHURCH.

SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY. Yesterday afternoon tho postponed meeting in connection with the anniversary of the Sunday School was held in St. John's Methodist Church. Mr Mark Smith, the Superintendent of tho School, presided. The Her. C. H. Garland offered prayer, and two of the scholars, namely, Miss Vera Smitih asd Master Herbert Whitford, read a portion of Scripture. The annual report was read, and attention' was drawn to the need of a leader for the Young Men's Class, also that more teachers were required for the -School. Tho prizes were distributed as follows : — Tablet prizes for senior scholars : Amy Ninnis (Dux, gold brooch, inscribed "Dux, St. John's, 1908") 1, Stella Derrick 2, Ethel Shone 3, Nettie Derrick 4, Ivy Bennetb 5, Flossie Shone 6, Vera Smith 7, Gladys Neale 8, Ethel Ninnis 9. Tablet prizes for juniors : Vanda Ellis 1, Vera Pen-in 2, Olive Emms 3, Ethel Smith 4, Esraa Cook 5, Jack Cook 6, Frances Thorpe 7, Rene Logan 8. For catechism and attendance: Ken Mitchener and Boyd Thompson 1, Kenneth Dee 2. Primary: Boys, Jackson Garland 1; girls, Merle Fabian 1/ Dorothy Deo 2. Infants. — Girls: For conduct and attendance, Maida Doidge 1, Given , Thompson 2, Doreeh Carlyle 3. Boys : Allen Doidge 1, Norman Perrin 2, Willie Thompson 3, L. Mitchener, K. Cooko, and R. Cook 4. ' Wellington Sunday School Union prizes: Grade 1, Nettie Derrick; Grade 2, Stella Derrick; Grade 3, Violet Garland, Vera Smith ; Grade 4, Maisio Joyce, Rupert Worley; Grade 5, Hine McCartney. Band of Hope prizes for singing: Grace Grove, Vera Smith, Violet Garland, Ken Smith, Esma Cook. Ditto for recitations : Leslie Tiller, Jackson Garland, Cissy Whitford, Sf.ella Derrick. Misses Ninnis and Phillips and Mr Leaper were thanked for their services in the Band of Hope, and Mr A. P. Lucas was thanked for his very officiout training of the children in singing for the anniversary. The children sang their special hymns in tho afternoon and also at the evening service.
