TOWN SCNDOLS COMMITTEE.

At tho last meeting of the abovenamed Committee there were present: The Revs. J. H. MaeKenzia (chairman), J. P. KcniptJiorne, and Messrs Easdale, McConchie, Thompson and Wcbley. It was resolved that Messrs Robertson Brothers be asked to construct tho see-saws at Hampden Street School. Ib was resolved to await Sir Harkncss' (the Chief Inspector) report re dividing with a partition the long room at Hampden Street School. It was resolved to remind i;he Board that the class-room doors at the Girls' School have not yet . been made to open outwards; also thatsteps should be taken to connect the Haven Road and Hampden .Street Schools with the new drainage system. It was resolved to send notices to tho parents of four scholars who are irregular in their attendance at school. V The average attendance for the month of tho scholars was 93.45 per j cent. It was resolved to send Mr Boyes a letter of sympathy in the recent bereavement by .the death of his son. _ As the Board will meet earlier next month, the Committee resolved to meet on Monday, December 7th. .Accounts amounting to £9 13s 9d were passed for payment.
