MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee of the Nelson Agricultural and Pastoral Asßociaion was held at Richmond on Friday evening. Present: Messrs J. E . Bartlett (president), P: Higgins (vice-president), V A Clayden, W. Coleman. W. R. May, J. Uagen, G. W. Best, Godfrey Bast, J. Gaukrodger. H. Croucher, T. H.: Holland, G. E. Cbisnall. T. B. Ohisnall, J. Hunt, 0. tJ. Uhing, J. Waclswortb. J. Cning, and the Secretary (Mr J. Glen). New members were elected as follows:—Mr T. Smith ( Xppleby), proposed by Messrs-G. E. Bartlett and V. A. Clayden ; Messrs E. V. Smith (Wairo.i Gorge)) and G. G. Win, (Dovedalo), proposed by Messrs Cole-: man and Hagen; Messrs F. Hooper, H. Faozelow and W. Ryder, junior, proposed by the secretary and Mr May. > Replies to invitations sent by tlae Association to bo present at the Show were received froniMinisters of the Crown and others. The Hon. R. McNab ragretted that he was unable to state whether tie would be able to aecapt tha invitation, but intimated that if arrangements could b 9 made, he .would take every ad •( vantaga'of the opDortunity of heiug. present. Ritchie, Seorr-' tary of the Department of Agriculture, accepted phe lnvitatioo, provided the exigencies of the public service would permit him to attend. Mr C J. Raakes, Assistant Chief, Veterinarian, replied on behalf of Mr Gilruth, stating tnat a reply would be sent on the latter's return to Wellington. Mr E. Clifton.Chief Inspector of Stock, said it would afford him much pleasure to be present It was agreed that Mr VV. Coleman should supply the fat beast for the guessing ■'competition, and' Mr Godfrey Best then" ye fat sheep. It was decided that the blocks for the wood choDpihg competition should be. of rirnu timber. Messrs G. Hest and J.
