RECOGNITION OFA CANDIDATE.
[United Press Association.] ■ .s Tain ape, Nov. 20. At a. large meeting held here last night, representing all parts of the elfctorat°, it was decided to bacqtret Mr E. M. Smith, the Independent Liberal candidate, in recognition of the good fight when be came within, 155 votes of defeating Mr Remingtoi. A purse of sovereigns will also be presented to Mr Smith.
