Ryder, junior, proposed by the secretßry and Mr May. - Replies to invitations sent by tbe Association to be present at the Show were received from Ministers of tQe Crown and others. The Hon. R. M<VNal> regretted that he was unable to state whether be would be able to accept thq invitation, but intimated that if arrangements could be maie, he would take every advantage of the opportunity of being present. Tbe Hon. G. Fowlds regretted that be wtfuld be unable tobe present. Mr J. D. Ritchie, Secretary of tbe Department of Agriculture, accepted the: invitation, provided, tbe exigencies of the public service .would permit bim to attend. Mr C. J. Rflakes, ' Assistant Chief Veterinarian, replied on bphalf of j Mr Giluith. stating that a reply would be sent ori the lattpr's return to Wellington. Mr E..oliftoniCbief Inspector of Stock, said it would afford him much pleasure to be present . It was agreed tbat Mr W. Coleman should supply tbe fat beast for the guessing bompetition, and Mr Godfrey Best the five fat sheep. It was decided that thu blocKs for the wood chopping competition slinuli be of rimu timber. Messrs G. Hest and J. (Jh ing were appointed stewards to weigh tde beast. sb«ep and pigs after the guessing competition. ,- - Mr P. Higgms threw out a.suggestion that afte* the fortbcoming snow, the committee should- take into consideration the question of supplying plates for the exhibits in - the domestic class.
