LIVING WHIST AND KIRMESS.

There, was a good house last night at tfc-e Theatre" Royal for tho fourth presentation of the hying whist and kirmess entertainment under the direction oi' Professor O. O. Sheets; The living whist and thfc full programme of dances vyere i given and iherti wfts' no uiminutidn in* the heartiness of the reception, accorded the, performers and- the applause was unstinted;. In consequence of. the length .of., tbe : programme encores .were pot. permitted though repetitions of several of the items were demanded. ; The performance wont with a good swing, to; which tbe ■excellent orchestra again contributed in considerable measure. Miss Bam- 1 ford an s Miss H. Reeves were the vocalists, the former singing "The Sweet o' the YeaiV and Miss Reeves "Love was made to make us Glad." Following the. rule of the evening the encores demanded in both instances could not bo acceded to. The Citizens' Bated again kildly p.layed several selections outsi de the '.theatre f.rioj 1 to the petformancee ■This afternoon a matinee performance will be given at which special prices of admission will be charged. To allow country residents a chance of attending" the entertainment another performance will be given this evening and it will be observed that the last out train has been delayed for half an hour.
