CHARGE AGAINST A PARTNER

Dunedin, August 21. At the Supreme Court to-day John McMillan was charged with having, between October 25th, 1897, and October sth, 1905, stolen £1151 18s ', lOd out of the funds of Messrs McI Kechnie and Fleming, of which acj cused was a partner. Mr Hanlon, ! for the defence, submitted that acI cused did not take the money with tbe fraudulent intent of depriving [ fa is co-partners, and that accused had j every "color of right" to take it. A • verdict of not guilty was returned I arid the accused was discharged. The j case lasted all day.
