ATTEMPTED SAFE ROBBERY.
' Thames, August 19. c An attempt was made to rob the f bullion safe at the May yueen Bat--1 tery. The doors of the batteiy and J safe room were opened, and an at- * tempt was made tp dynamite tbe * i_afe. A charge of gelignite was placed in the hoie with the object of dislodging the safe lock, but the k safe was too heavy, the result being " that the safe jammed; and the bul- " lion in the safe was secure from the 1 robbers.
