Regret was expressed at the departure from Nelson of Messrs F, MoGee and G. Tnomason, the Club's hearty congratulations^were extended: to Messrs Thompson Tand Gook, members of thetClub, who represented the Wellingtan Centre at the Championship meeting held at Obristahurch. Miluer), and the ohairraun, and the meeting terminated.

The annual meeting of members of this Club was held at Mercer's Rooms last evening, when there was a fair attendance of members. Mr E. S. Cresswell (a Vice-President of the Club) was voted to the chair. The Committee in their twelfth annual report regretted that they were not able to chronicle a more successful season, owing chiefly to lack of support from the public at the Club's annual sports meeting, on Ist February, the unfavorable state of the weather in the morning interfering with the attendance. So far as the sport was concerned the meeting was highly successful, and provided some of the closest finishes ever seen on the track. During the summer evening sports meetings had tieen held for the purpose of keeping the sport alive, and encouraging young athletes and in the direction the results were highly satisfactory, but the venture was unfortunately not a success financially. Mention was made of the part the Club took in the Trafalgar Day celebrations, which resulted in a profit of £3 4s, and to the Schools' championship held on that day, the Shield presented by Mr Geo. Hogg, being won by the Central School. The football matches organised by Mr Geo, Thomason, Press v. Civil Service, bad resulted in a profit of £9 8s 9d. The Committee regretted to report a falliDg off of public interest In athletic and cycling sports, and sounded a note of warning to the incoming committe suggesting that other attractions beside pedestrian and oyoling contests be provided, otherwise a severe less would "follow.
