Answer to a Correspondent. — "One Who Would Like to Know," who wrote asking the date of the {.arrival of the Sir Charles Forbes, is informed that that vessel arrived at Nelson on August 22nd, 1812.

M. Griffin, Miss K. V. O'Brien, Miss F.H. Every and Miss E. Hewetson (equal), Mrs E. M. Kingsley, Miss P. O. Coote, Miss M. F. Elliott, and Miss Bessie Gaudy These ladies are each entitled to a certificate.

S.S. Koi.— Attention is directed to an alteration in the sailing hour of the s.s Koi from Motueka on Tuesday 30th inst.

Sudden Death. — Last evening, Mrs j Beid, who ha 9 resided for some years with Mr George Thompson, Waimea stre*t, died suddenly. The deceased lady attended the even iog service at the Presbyterian Church, and almost immediately after her- : return Mrs Thompson heard a 'fall in an adjoining room, and making investigation found Mrs Beid lying on the floor unconscious. Medical aid was summoned, but Dr Barr, who was quickly in attendance, found life extinct. Deceased was an ederly lady, and apparently was enjoying good health, and there were no premonitory signs of the seizure. j
