LECTURES.
/this evening, at the School of Music, MisS Ada L , A. Murcutt, who is a much-travelled lady, and who has won golden opinions in Scotland and elsewhere for her interesting lectures, will give the first of a series of lectures to be "delivered in NeJson. Her subject to-night will be "Japan and the Japanese. " His Worship the Mayor will preside. A charge of one shilling will be made for the front seats, while admission to other parts of the hall ; will be by silver coin collection. On Thursday night Miss Murcutt 1 will give an address to women only in St. John's Methodist Church, J ivhen Mrs Mules will preside. ; On Friday night Miss* Murcutt will ecture. in the School of Music on 'America as T saw It; " On Sunday night Miss Murcutt vill iecturoon "National Righteousiess," wberi the Bishop of Nelson vill preside. It is anticipated that Miss Mursutt's lectures will be very largely ittended, as it is rare^indeed to hear i lady graphically describing her ravels on the public platform in lew Zealand.
