AuckandJ Jur.e 10," t A terrible tram fatality occurred in tbe city _o-night,tbe victim being Harry Elder, a man of about 40 years of age. He waa a painter, and reHided at Freeman's Bay. Tt is believed tbat he was a passenger by ' the tram car which ran over him, nnd that he got off at the corner of V ictoria and Nelson streets, where the accident occurred. He was knocked down and dragged about 20 yards. When extricated, a work that took about 15 minutes, he was found to be dead, tbe body being terribly mutilated; A pathetic feature was that'a son of the victim, quite unconscious that it was his father, as^ sisted to extricato the body.
