ACCIDENTS.
Christchurch, May 1. A shunter named Jas. Paton was crushed between tbe buffers of two horse boxes at the Christchurch railway station this afternoon and aomewh.at seriously injured. A middle-aged man named Hy. Brown, while blasting rock on the hills in the vicinity of Little River, on Tuesday, sustained painful injuries. He had some doubt whether a fuse had properly ignited and ventured out of his shelter to see. Tl\e explosion occurred when Brown w.>s within a few feet of the blast and its force hurled him for a considerab le distance down tbe hill. His face and eyes were injured, and j after regain ing consciousness be had to crawl f ullY half a mile before he could obtain assistance, and he was brought to th 6 Christchurch Hospital to-day. V
