SERIOUS FLOODS IN AUCLLAND PROVINCE.

Auckland, Feb 14. Serious floods havo occurred in the country districts,. At Mungaturoto unprecedented floods have been experienced all the larger bridges being three or four feet under water. A lad named George Knight was drowned. He fell into the flood waters and has not been [seen since. At the Wairua Creek Whangarei district the mail coach was awept away and the horses were drowned. Tbe driver had a very narrow escape. At Waipu the flood was the biggest on record, and the township was twelve feet under water. Numbers of cattle and sheep were drowned. The potato crop has been* completely ruined. Owing to the booms bursting a large quantity of valuable kauri timber was swept to sea. At Dargavillo the stores were flooded, owing to the town being submerged. Railway and telegraph communication has been interfered with.
