WAIMEA AMATEUR SWIMMING CLUB.
The annual meeting of the above club was held in the Appleby schoolroom on Friay last, a fair nnmber of members being present. In the absence of the President, Mr T. H. Cook was voted to the chair. The minutes of the inaugural meeting wero read and confirmed, and the balance sheet, which showed a small credit balance, was road and adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows:— President, Mr H. Buttle; Club Captain, Mr H. Kingsland; Hon. Secretary, Mr P. H. Best: Hon. Auditor, Mr Rod. O'Connor; Committee, Messrs H. Cook, A. R. Best, L. Oballiea, J. O'Connor, and A. Jellyman. Mr C. Stewart gave permission for members to go through his property to the bathing hole. It was resolved that the opening day be arranged by the committee. The meeting closed with a hearty vote of thanks to the chair.
