The "Tagleblatt," under the heading ♦ "Uniform Fetish," sajs that the swindler succeeded because Prussian soldiers are systematically broken of thinking. J London, October 18. { Router's Berlin correspondent states that the pseudo captain changed his uniform for civilian clothes at Rixdolf, whore his sword was found. After arresting the j Mayor in the Kaiser's name, he tried j to extort from the terrified official the Municipal Savings Bank funds, saying that he wapted two million marks but fortunately, the cashier had departed. The police impressed by the "Captain's" bearing kept the crowds back while the troops conducted the Mayor to a carriage. Police Sergreant,and Grenadiers were conveying him to Berlin, his wife being allowed to accompany the Mayor,
